Living in Residence.
If you’re planning to live on dorms, there are a few things you need to know before you get here! 1. Go to http://www.pacificlife.edu/index.php/departments/student-life/apply-for-campus-housing, complete the form and submit. 2. Once you’ve clicked submit, we will process your request and invoice you for a $150 damage deposit in Populi, which can be paid online via visa, or mail a cheque. Your room will only be held once this deposit is made.
Move in day.
The official move in day for students is Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 between 9am and 4pm. You’ll be greeted by our Student Life Team and they’ll direct you to exactly where you need to go.
Transportation.
We provide one free pick up from the airport or bus/train station for all students in their first semester. Here’s how you request this service: 1. Go to www.pacificlife.edu/pickup 2. Fill out all the information on the form, click send, and we will be in contact with you about picking you up from your arrival location. *Advance notice necessary.
Student handbook.
You can find a copy of our student handbook at http://www.pacificlife.edu/files/student-handbook.pdf. These guidelines provide the framework for how we live together in community.
Orientation week.
The 2011 Orientation Week is going to be the best yet! We have lots of fun activities planned, a few outings, concerts, and a college opener that will set the tone for the whole year. It’s a time to connect with loads of new friends, and get a taste for what the year will be like!
College opener.
The college opener is at 9:00pm on Friday September 9, 2011. We’be planned a creative, interactive worship experience followed by a message from our President talking about vision for the year ahead. It will be the farthest thing from boring, and something you don’t want to miss!
Registering for classes.
You don’t need to register for classes until Thursday, September 8, 2011. On that day you will meet with a Program Advisor (in a group format) and find out exactly what you need to take for your specific program! Before then you can view all the courses offered in Fall 2011 by going to http://www.pacificlife.edu/files/schedule.pdf.
Money & Payments.
Besides paying a damage deposit, if you are living on campus, you do not need to make any further payments until you have registered for your classes on September 8, 2011. Once you have registered you will be invoiced on Populi with your total balance owing. We accept cheques, money orders, cash, interac, MasterCard, or Visa.
Foreign students.
Check out our "Studying in Canada" page.
Internet.
We provide free wifi for all students. We do have an Internet filter, which blocks websites with questionable content. The filter requires users to log in with a personal user name and password. This allows us to monitor the Internet use of all students.
