The goal of the Music Ministry internships is to give students an opportunity to SEE A CHURCH MUSIC MINISTRY or CHRISTIAN MUSICIANS IN THE COMMUNITY IN ACTION. This experience is meant to give them a clearer perspective of working with people and doing the necessary administrative/organizational tasks. We want the students to learn as much as they can from people who are in currently involved in these areas through discussions, watching what they do, and helping out in whatever capacity they are asked to. This is a mentoring opportunity for the student. We believe that PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE ALONGSIDE TRAINING will help students be more successful in reaching their goals.
In order to keep a clear focus and to help make this a meaningful experience we have created this journal/diary booklet for the student to write in regularly. This booklet contains a list of DISCUSSION TOPICS AND ACTIVITIES that students need to cover. It also contains pages for journal entries and lists of activities experienced.
At the end of each semester the supervisor will sign the booklet and submit an assessment/evaluation of the student’s internship based on attitude, dependability, work ethic, competence etc. Students are expected to behave in a manner becoming of servant Christian leaders. Students should be willing to serve in whatever capacity needed and do so with enthusiasm, punctuality, humility, integrity and excellence.
The student will turn in the book to their advisor to sign and then they will receive it back for future reference.
